How on earth is it May already?!

So i don't even know where to start? i haven't written since i got back from my awesome vacation with my dad! Of course, i always wait to blog when it gets to be later at night and then i'm ready to go to sleep....so i'll write about some of the vacation tonight -- and then of course, there are about a bajillion great pictures (thanks, daddy!) -- so it will be difficult to choose those too!

So i believe that i wrote about our part in istanbul the last time -- our last day, we went on a lovely cruise on the Bosphorous River - which connects the Black Sea and Aegean Sea through istanbul. it stopped at a few places along the way, and then we ended up in a small town on the Asian side of Turkey! We hiked up to the top of a hill to some ancient stones and looked out on the Black Sea which was beautiful! On the way back down, we stopped at a little bakery and had some afternoon dessert before catching the boat back to istanbul!

The next morning, we took a flight to Athens! Which was a little surreal. We found our hotel after taking a few metro rides to get there. And then we headed off to the Acropolis! Again - surreal. Hard to believe that i was actually seeing it in person! We circled around it quite a number of times before actually finding the way to get up there....and then spent an hour or two up there before they started shooing everyone away before their 3pm closing time.

After that, we went down to the New Acropolis Museum which is very well done -- but at the same time, all of the old stones start to kind of look the same.....We headed back to the hotel for a little repos, and then went out to dinner at a restaurant, Strofi, which was up on the roof of this old house that had a view of the Acropolis all lit up! Pretty incredible!

Monday, we started the day by watching the changing of the guards in front of the parliament building -- it was actually pretty amazing and looked like some sort of dance and the guards had these really interesting looking outfits with pompom-ed shoes....pretty crazy.

Ok, here are some pictures, and then i will continue the vacation stories tomorrow!
